SCHOLARSHIPS
It is the goal of SFYSA that every student who qualifies for the various SFYSA programs is able to participate. Therefore, scholarships are available on a limited basis for those students who are truly in financial need.
Scholarship applications are available by request through the SFYSA office.
Scholarship recipients must be musicians in good standing, fulfilling obligations as described in the "Attendance", and "Conduct" section of our Handbook. If a student does not meet these obligations, their scholarship may be revoked.
The Scholarship Committee will make decisions about who will qualify for these funds and what percentage of the tuition will be covered on a case by case basis, taking into consideration primarily financial need and the student’s commitment to the musical program. Scholarships will assist with 50% to 75% of the tuition, depending on the situation of the family. All students and their families will be expected to help with SFYSA volunteer activities, regardless of whether they receive scholarships or not.
