The SFYSA offers a city-wide program for violin instruction called Mozart y Mariachi. Group lessons are held twice a week, both during and after school, at five public schools. Students are placed in a class appropriate for their ability and experience level, regardless of age or grade. Since class size is limited, returning Mozart y Mariachi students are given first priority for program enrollment each year. After the initial enrollment is filled, applicants are placed on a waiting list and may be selected to participate.
The class fee for Beginning and Intermediate Violin is $440.00 per school year, payable in 2 installments of $220.00 (Due Oct. 5 and Dec. 7). The class fee for Advanced Violin is $480.00 per school year, payable in 2 installments of $240.00 (Due Oct. 5 and Dec. 7). Scholarships are available. Many MyM students benefit from the use of an SFYSA violin over the course of the year. If you'd like to participate and do not have an instrument, simply indicate that need on your registration form.
