SFYSA | Programs: Jazz

The SFYSA is pleased to offer beginning and intermediate jazz instruction through the Charlie Parker & Miles Davis Jazz Ensembles. Charlie Parker Jazz Ensemble is directed by David Parlato and is open to young musicians who are interested in jazz. Miles Davis Jazz Ensemble is for intermediate to advanced jazz students and is directed by Richard Snider. All instruments are welcome!

Requirements for Participation
Students must be presently taking private lessons and/or participate daily in their school band program. They also need to have at least 2 years playing experience.

Rehearsal Time and Location
The Charlie Parker Ensemble rehearses Thursday evenings from 5:15 - 6:45 p.m. at the Pink Church Art Center.
The Miles Davis Ensemble rehearses Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Pink Church Art Center.

Tuition
Tuition for each jazz ensemble is $352 per season, payable in two installments. Students who elect not to continue, before the third rehearsal, will receive a full refund. Payment plans and limited scholarships are available upon request. Scholarship applications are available on the DOWNLOADS page.
